"NFL FEVER ON MONDAY NIGHT" ON XBOX CONTINUES
NFL Fever 2002's
Simulated Monday Night Highlight Reel
to Appear Weekly on
Xbox.com
Today,
Microsoft announced week two of NFL Fever on Monday Night. NFL Fever on
Monday Night is a simulated highlight reel that will appear every week
on www.xbox.com previewing the upcoming
Monday Night Football game. All games will be played in incredibly realistic
replicas of NFL stadiums with current rosters, using the new Microsoft Game
Studios' NFL Fever 2002 to simulate the game.
For the past two weeks, NFL Fever 2002 has simulated the Monday night games and is off to a good start with its predictions. In a test run, NFL Fever 2002’s artificial intelligence correctly picked the Rams to shut out the Lions (28-0). In the first official simulation, the AI accurately predicted a low scoring contest between the Redskins and the Cowboys. If not for a last minute fumble in the real game that gave the Cowboys the win, the AI would have been close when it predicted a Redskins victory (7-3).
In this week’s installment of NFL Fever on Monday Night, the Philadelphia Eagles claimed sole possession of first place in the NFC East by defeating the New York Giants 21-14. Quarterback Donovan McNabb led the Eagles to a decisive road victory over their bitter NFC rivals. McNabb passed for 177 yards and 3 touchdowns, while the Eagles defense held “Thunder and Lightning,” Ron Dayne and Tiki Barber, to only 60 yards on the ground.
NFL Fever 2002 is due out in stores with the launch of the Xbox on November 15th. The eagerly anticipated football game will feature motion capture and football expertise from All-Pro Quarterback Peyton Manning, music from Public Enemy's Chuck D and the hip-hop group N*E*R*D along with play-by-play from NFL analysts Dick Stockton and Ron Pitts.
