WORLD CYBER GAMES ANNOUNCES REMAINING OFFLINE US QUALIFIERS

- Gamers in Buffalo and Las Vegas Will Compete This Weekend

- Winners Earn Bid to US Final And a Chance to Go to the International Grand Final in San Francisco

The World Cyber Games http://www.worldcybergames./>com , sponsored globally by Samsung Electronics, has announced the dates and locations of the remaining US qualifiers for the world's largest computer and video game festival.

Winners of the upcoming qualifiers will earn a bid to the US Final, and the competition then culminates with the international Grand Final at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco from October 6-10, 2004.

Qualifiers have already taken place in Seattle, Chicago and in Wayne, NJ, but gamers still have a shot at qualifying at the following locations:

Qualifiers are being held for the following video games:

  • Counter-Strike:Condition Zero (PC)

  •  Unreal Tournament 2004 (PC)

  • FIFA 2004 (PC)

  • StarCraft: Brood War (PC)

  • Warcraft III: Frozen Throne (PC)

  • Need for Speed: Underground (PC)

  • Halo (Xbox)

  • Project Gotham Racing 2 (Xbox)

The top two players per individual game, and top Counter-Strike team, earn a berth in the World Cyber Games 2004 US final, to be held in Los Angeles this September. Players can register online for the US qualifiers here: http://www.wcgusa.net/register.asp

The Grand Final in San Francisco will bring 700 champion gamers from over 60 countries to compete for a $400,000 prize pool and international honors.
