RalliSport Challenge Races to Store Shelves Today
Microsoft Game Studios today announced that its newest racing game for the Xbox™ video game system, RalliSport Challenge, is scheduled to hit retail stores in North America on March 6, 2002.
An off-road Rally racing game developed by Digital Illusions, C.E. exclusively for Xbox, RalliSport Challenge offers gamers and racing fans a comprehensive, action-packed off-road racing experience.
RalliSport Challenge provides a unique racing experience by combining four different types of Rally competition into one game – Hill Climb, Traditional Rallies, RallyCross, and Ice Racing. With 29 fully licensed cars from which to choose and 48 tracks on which to race, RalliSport Challenge provides gamers with the thrill of racing fast cars on all types of terrain.
Gamers will be challenged to put their driving expertise to the test as they make their way through a robust career mode with four classes of racing to conquer: Pro, Expert, Classic and Unlimited. Points are earned for each race, which in turn unlock new cars and allows qualification onto the upper race-circuits.
Leveraging the power of Xbox, RalliSport Challenge features advanced graphics including swaying trees, animated crowds and ultra-realistic particle effects as cars run through mud, dirt, snow and water. In addition, RalliSport Challenge delivers distinctive audio effects from the actual cars, enabling racers to distinguish the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO V1 from the Peugeot 206.
Xbox ( http://www.xbox.com/ ) is Microsoft’s future-generation video game system that delivers the most powerful games experiences ever. Xbox empowers game artists by giving them the technology to fulfill their creative visions as never before, creating games that blur the lines between fantasy and reality. Xbox is now available in North America and Japan, and will ship in Europe and Australia on March 14, 2002.
