Street Racing Syndicate Preview

One of the biggest displays at the Namco booth was for the game SRS (Street Racing Syndicate).  SRS continues the recent trend of street racing games and from the looks of the game at E3 this one should be a winner.  The first thing you will notice are the visuals, they are very slick, impressive and gorgeous.  The game was moving at a very smooth frame-rate and all of the car models looked great.  Right away there will be some comparisons to Need for Speed: Underground since both games look similar to each other.  

In SRS you have the ability to race for money, pink slips and much more (such as the car magazine models!).  The game is set in three different cities, Miami, Philly and L.A.  You will have the ability to customize your car with a large assortment of parts and graphic effects.  The game will also contain realistic damage to the cars and open city gameplay where you can exit a race to avoid the police. 

The game looks great so far and is scheduled for release on PS2, Xbox and GC.  The PS2 and Xbox versions will offer online play as well.  The game is scheduled for release in Fall 2004.
